PARENT INFORMATION NETWORK:
The Parent Information Network (PIN) is a parent support program. Our
services are for families with children who struggle with mental,
emotional, and/or behavioral difficulties. Our goal is to provide
families with support and education. PIN is part of BAMSI’s Services
for Children, Youth, and Families Division and is funded by the Department of Mental
Health. Parent Coordinators working for PIN are parents themselves who
have faced the same challenges with their own children. PIN serves the
Southeastern Area of Massachusetts in the DMH sites of Brockton, Cape
Cod and the Islands, Fall River, Plymouth, New Bedford, and
Taunton/Attleboro. PIN is a member of PAL (Parent/Professional Advocacy
League) and the Federation for Children with Special Needs. All services
provided by PIN are confidential and free-of-charge.
BAMSI:
BAMSI is a state-wide organization dedicated to “Bringing People and
Services Together”. Incorporated in 1975, BAMSI today is one of the
largest minority non-profit organizations in Massachusetts. Our agency
is guided by a strong mission, a clear set of values, and a vision to
deliver the highest quality services to individuals and families of
Massachusetts. Our programs comprise a specialized network of services
in the following areas: Wraparound Family Stabilization; Counseling,
Education, and Outreach; Public Health Services; Developmental
Disability Services; Mental Health Services; Elderly Services; and
Information and Referral Resources.
DMH:
The mission of the Department of Mental Health is to improve
the quality of life for adults with serious and persistent mental
illness and children with serious mental illness or severe emotional
disturbance. This is accomplished by ensuring access to an integrated
network of effective, efficient, and culturally competent mental health
services that promote consumer rights, responsibilities,
rehabilitation, and recovery.
